What's brewing at TCDC?

What’s brewing at TCDC?
I think I will try to write this note in English. Although my writing skill is certainly not something I’m proud of but somehow I feel it might be more comprehensible for this  context to explain it in English.
Something big is going on at TCDC for the last two weeks.
Do you remember Apple’s very famous Ad called “ Think Different” which features world’s greatest revolutionary of our time? I think what TCDC is trying to accomplish is to give us the resources to increase the possibly of being one of those people someday.
During the past two weeks, TCDC has hosted an event called “ creativities unfold 2011” (noted that this event has been hosted for 5 years but I just have opportunity to join this year)  which contains of 30+ open house workshops of some of the most influential studios and companies in the field of creativity business in Thailand. I attend couple of it and it was great. I have chance to understand the intuitive of people in other industries and  making some new friends along the way as well.
The last 2 days were an international symposium which hosted some of the greatest speakers who see the importance of design and creativity from various countries. I feel that the caliber of most of the speakers that TCDC invited are exceptional. The opportunity to listen to their speeches is very sparse.
Frankly, I wasn’t expect much at first but when I entered the hall at TCDC on the first day of the symposium. What I see was a surprised. Given the fact that TCDC is a government based organization, it was quite astonishing to see that the execution of the atmosphere arrangement in this event was flawless. Clearly, it was done by a true professional who understand what’s at stake. From the stage to the sound system to the presentation arrangement, it almost feels like I was in the Apple’s launching event of the new Iphone.
The hall is crowded with visionaries, thinkers, creatives and game changers. I suddenly feel the vibe in the air, something I haven’t feel for years. It was the energy of people who refuse the status quo, refuse to accept things as given and more importantly embrace the fact that everything is possible and can be done.
I feel privileged to be able to listen to speakers like Mr Dennis Hong who is a founder of robotics and mechanism laboratory at Virginia Tech, where his dream of building the car that blind people can drive by themselves came true. His other inventions are also extraordinary , such as the Darwin robot which i believe it’s the face of the future Artifactual Intelligence which will become an integral part of Human species not long from now.
I have learned the passion of Mr Cameron Sinclair who is the co founder of Architecture for Humanity. The organization that starts from small dream to help people in need for proper houses, shelters, schools, community centers etc which has now effect more than 2 million people around the globe. What he did is literally changes the world.  I feel inspired by his story and his creativity that make me want to do something to make this world a better place to live in as well.
These are just two example of the extraordinary people who use his idea and creativity to change the world. The other speakers are very inspirational as well. Where else in the world would I have the opportunity to listen to visions of the founder of Wallpaper and Monocle magazine right after his plane is landed in Bangkok?
I think what TCDC has done a great job of assemble this event along with inviting these great speakers. But more importantly, I believe that this event inspires us all in one way or another. It’s actually creating a new visionary, thinkers, creatives and game changes just like the baton that passes along from the previous generations.
If you miss it this year, make sure you do not repeat the same mistake next year.
Cheers!
